Student Government
As the bridge between school offices and the student body, ROOT aims to represent the student voice and bring transparency to the school’s policy decisions. By organising student engagement and dialogue sessions, we provide open channels for effective communication between students, staff and faculty.
Student's Association Council
The Student Association Council represents the collective interest of their constituent bodies, council representatives and also organise welfare or bonding events, promote interactions between students and provide opportunities for these students to thrive in their respective areas.

Events & Welfare
The Events & Welfare department enhances student life by organizing festive celebrations, welfare initiatives, and major events (Freshnomore). The department members often lead large-scale university events, working closely with various university offices to create a vibrant and supportive campus community.
Finance
The Finance department is the powerhouse behind ROOT's budget and expense management! We don’t just handle the numbers – we drive the success of merch sales, locker bookings, and more. The revenue we generate enables us to plan even bigger and better events for the student body.
Media & Marketing
The Media and Marketing department is the creative powerhouse behind ROOT's publicity and communications, responsible for designing multimedia content that capture the essence of SUTD culture and deliver key updates, and handle creative media requests from student organizations.
Orientation
The Orientation department consisting of creative media, welfare, logs, programmes and other departments plans orientation for the incoming students. Orientation strives to build an exciting and welcoming environment, providing freshies with a wonderful start to their SUTD lives.
ROOTech
The ROOTech department manages the technical aspects of ROOT including websites (like this one), digital forms and more (It can be your self-initiated project). So join us to improve and challenge your coding skills while developing impactful software applications for the school!!!
Student Relations
The Student Relations department is dedicated to fostering a thriving campus community. Serving as a vital connection between SUTDents and staff, they work together to improve overall student life. There are three sub-departments - Engagement Taskforce, Student Organisation Management and IComm.
